Charlie is relatable, her mom is horrible, but she has the support of friends. Such a cute story!

I tested up because I saw so much of myself in Charlie. Suddenly I was 17 again, having a difficult relationship with my mother and my body. I wish some of the side characters were explored more but I really enjoyed this book.

the pacing on this book is kind of weird since the synopsis spoils one of the big plot points (which happens ~80% through the book)

Loved this book. I enjoy reading stories I'm able to relate to and this one really did speak to me. Relatable for sure, and such a enjoyable read with likeable characters.

I loved this book so much oh my word. As a fat woman nothing fills me with more joy than to read about a character with complex emotions that go beyond ‘oh I’m fat so I’m sad’ because that’s not what being fat is like at all. Author Maldonado perfect captures a far to often harsh world of comparison and confidence while making dynamic and beautifully flawed characters. Where I as a white woman will never know all the struggles that main character Charlie Vega goes through, when it comes to fatphobia and the struggles of love and romance in a shallow world I can forever relate.
THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ!!! And I cannot express it enough!

This was so cute !!! I thought I'd rate lower since it's YA and a romance but I really can't. It made me feel the feels and I related to Charlie enough to want see how her decisions panned out. I probably would've gushed over this back in middle school/high school but I'm really just feeling sappy and happy

this is one of those books that’s really just full of fluff and a well intentioned message, and there is honestly so much it could improve upon—especially its handling of its only relevant black character—but overall i guess it really just wasn’t for me.
