3.5 stars. This book would have been better if it hadn’t been mostly a repeat of the series. Having the story from Sonya and Ethan’s point of view was interesting, but would have worked better if there hadn’t been any scenes like that in the previous books. Now it was mostly just frustrating to get to the last few chapters to see what happened to them. It would have worked with a few tantalizing glimpses here there in the other books nothing major, just enough to make you wonder about them, so that in this book you would have that “aha, so that’s what was going on” moment. Still a good book, just to much repetition to make it a great book. Couldn’t help but feel these characters deserved better.

This one is not the last of a series but is like a closure. Focus into Ethan and Sonya although involving all the cast appeared in the previous books and introducing interesting new ones. The development of the characters, the depiction of the surroundings and the evolution of the story are perfectly timing. I only miss something more about the enemies, the hideous Kayadon. A really enjoyable reading!

3 Stars for the whole series. No wait, 3.5 for the first book.

I'm going to cheat a bit and do a sort of series overview here. It was nice enough, I liked the Sci/Fi aspect of the series but it got a bit repetitive at times it was like reading more or less the same story with different characters. But even with this, it was enjoyable enough.

For this one in particular I had high hopes, I really liked Ethan and Sonya's couple through out the other books but this was like a recap with bonus content. It was a bit of a let down actually.
