Cute story line and gorgeous pictures! It definitely helps understand things in Nicholas St. North and the Nightmare Army!

Wonderful children's book, beautifully illustrated.
Picked this up as it is the start of the Gaurdian's of Childhood series, which is source material for Rise of the Gaurdians movie.
Beautiful, original new take on some old childhood friends.

I loved the way this book looked. It's beautiful and "steampunk" and imaginative. But the plot is way too much in general, and too complicated for children. I feel like the author made a list of things he likes and made sure every one of them is mentioned in the book. I couldn't follow it easily, so I know kids couldn't.

It's BEAUTIFUL though. Gorgeously illustrated and imagined. I'd love to see a pared down version of the text with the same art.

Really cute book with some background information on the Man in the Moon. I'm just confused when the timeline is. It seems to take place before Nicholas St. North, but all the Guardians are established. Ah the continuity!

If I were judging this book solely on the story alone, I would be giving this two stars. For a picture book, it just couldn't hold my interest.

But the illustrations are mesmerizing and helped to elevate my rating.
