I'm trying to determine if these books are copaganda or if they are simply long drawn-out poop and fart joke books. I'm leaning towards the latter, especially considering that Dog Man's animalistic behavior results in destruction and inconvenience for the rude and prejudiced cops at the police HQ. I would maybe deem Dog Man and Captain Underpants vigilantes in the style of Dennis the Menace - lovable rascals. I also think it's great that they fight fire with silliness. The laughs are a mile a minute and Pilkey never misses an opportunity for a sight gag. I really appreciate these books for exposing younger generations to the pleasures of slapstick comedy.
