I'll be honest, I only picked up this book to fulfill a reading challenge since we don't have presidents in my country. The mystery portion was better than expected, I didn't guess the culprit until the author practically spelled it out for me. But..Barack came off as a jerk and Joe Biden as a bit senile. Not sure if it was intentional but I can't say it inspired me to want to meet them irl.

I wanted to like this more. When it hits the tone just right its really good. I can imagine Obama and Biden actually saying some of this stuff but when they miss it took me so out of it making it hard to read. I found myself skipping whole paragraphs sometimes sadly. The mystery was lacking any interest for me as well. The draw was fully when the tone hit.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tongue in cheek homage reuniting the former president and his right hand man to fight on the side of justice. I’m sure I would have enjoyed it even more if I wasn’t English and had a better knowledge and understanding of American politics

It's really not a BAD book, it just wasn't MY book so I had to dnf 20% in. I think the story so far was fun and it was comical to imagine Biden and Obama doing these things. My brain just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that these two just never would say or do these things! I think had it been just a random fictional president, I'd have blasted through it. Maybe someday I'll give it another go.

This is the second book by Andrew Shaffer I have read. While it is not my favorite (feel the bern) it was very amusing and fun to read. A simple mystery that hits all the good spots for me. Would definitely recommend as it's a short and easy read.

Just a fun story about what would happen if Biden and Obama were caught up in a murder mystery within a year after Obama left office. A easy read to begin the new year.
