I read this book after losing a friend in an accident. The book didn't reach me on an emotional level, which really surprised me. Maybe it's because the author didn't go as deep as I expected, or maybe it's because of my own desensitization to thoughts of death and mortality. But it was an interesting read and is clearly important. I'm going to give this book to a friend and see if it has a greater impact on them.

In ‘Any Ordinary Day’, Leigh Sales grapples with life’s hardest question, what happens after the worst day of your life? Sales explores trauma, tragedy and loss with a raw honesty and professionalism, using both academic papers, her own experiences and the experiences of others to discover how people cope with sudden, inexplicable calamity. Filled with life lessons, moments of hope and deep reflection, this book is a must read - offering teachings from how to help those in your life grieving, and how those whose lives have suddenly been turned upside down put the pieces back together again. I know I will be thinking about this book for years to come.
