My Rating: 1⭐️ extremely average and underwhelming star!!!

To start off, I am waaaay behind in reviews so this will be fairly short… unless I get a roll on… and second I am not gonna do a synopsis. You can read it on GoodReads but honestly look at my 1star if you like the kinds of books I like this wont be for you.

This one started off strong… I reckon that is what got me to 20% and honestly when I started this was deep in a SLUMP… I was slumping hard… I had DNFd three books prior to this and I was like please let me have something. BUT it wasn’t meant to be…

So it started strong the writing was going good… we were set in a small dog town that screams of poor and down trodden… my fave by the way… my girl Pink (who is now Lit with Leigh) and I quote said stories like this are “my own personal crack” which is true. So it was good.. I was into it.

SUDDENLY it was like the author went you know what… I’m done here you go 7 year old finish this up for me… and then we had a play by play of every single persons thoughts and feelings and things they were doing… we are going to the store.. then I thought to myself blah… I felt terrible but I decided to do it anyway… JESUS please take the wheel. Alas he did not… and this continued for the entire book. Why did I finish it… well I had to… I just needed to read something I cannot handle having nothing and I wanted it to get better… it did not.

I should have known better when I was reading about teenage girls… it was childish as you can imagine…and the reason for the bad things that were happening was so stupid… and I get that as a teenager you are stupid… I was and I know my teenagers are… but I am 40… so reading about stupid teenagers just probably isn’t for me. Depressing and tragic absolutely… stupid and dumb… nope.

Also the MC’s were ANNOYING AF especially Cora … and even the adults in this novel were childish and complete dick heads there is nothing to say about it. The author cast doubt across everyone and I get why cause its a thriller right… but still we needed someone to like…I didnt like a single character… and they were all dumbasses… so essentially it just went around and around and then finally we find out the truth and its not all that surprising or thrilling and then we are left with a little ooooh at the end which was dumb…

I wont go into spoilers but it is no surprise from my 1star rating that I did not like it… and I do not recommend it… meanwhile directly after this book I DNFd two more books… i really had a totally sit month of September reading wise… bring on October.
