Uniquely creepy dark and religious as well as queer. Polk’s prose is killer and the vibes are immaculate. It’s film noir plus a lil magic.

This was such a beautiful book. For 100 pages it packs a punch and manages to cram in all this world building without it feeling too overwhelming or forced. And I adored Helen and Edith’s relationship. What a great story to start out my pride month❣️
