What a peculiar little book. I read this book mostly on the tube whilst going to work which added to the effect of the book set on a train. The characters at first seem a little absurdly simple, the relationships too fast and askew only to surprise the reader with their inner thoughts or actions. The book toys around with strong female characters being seen as solely sexual yet innocent beings. Great easy read

Fast paced, very interesting, easy read. It has a great atmosphere and sense of time and place, if you like 1920s-1930s style literature you will like this. An enjoyable book.
