I've enjoyed the short Christmas stories in this series. They are fun and clean, although they can be a bit cheesy in parts. I kind of had a hard time in this story with the deception going on, but as always, I love the happy ending!

I'm reading a lot of Christmas romances lately and am discovering a trope in the weaker ones- we believe the attraction because the author says it's there. Then we believe the conflict because the author says. Then we believe they should kiss because... You see my point. I need to believe it because of the story instead of just read "he's such a jerk, but so handsome! But a jerk! And now we are kissing!" I can't buy it. The naughty List seems to be hitting the romcom beats without trying to make us believe them. When the leads kissed for the first time I finally put it down. I just couldn't buy it.

Debbie Macomber's Trading Christmas is much better, giving the characters reasons for conflict and then reasons to warm to each other.

For Horrocks' work, Bah, Humbug! was more enjoyable, if you like her light style. I haven't read the others in her series but as she's 1-1 for me now, I'm willing to give another one a chance.
