Relentlessly surreal and complicated. There's some beautiful language and beautiful moments, but overall, 'Bestiary' has left me disappointed and confused.

The premise of it is brilliant, and a lot of the motifs and metaphors would've been inspired, if only I could work out what the point of them was (e.g. the tail and the holes and the letters and pretty much everything, to be honest). I have no idea what it was trying to say other than "family is sometimes good and sometimes bad". And is that even really saying anything???? I don't know! A little too poetic for its own good, maybe.
