If my rudimentary calculation is correct, this is the 68th book that I've read written by Agatha Christie.
The Seven Dials Mystery began with a silly prank when a group of friends decided to play a trick on one of their own who could sleep his way through a catastrophe. (Dia tidur mati like me đ)
Together they set up eight alarm clocks at an interval to disturb his sleep in the wee hours of the morning. Instead of being crossed at the ruckus caused by the blaring alarm as the friends thought he would be, Gerry remained asleep. It didn't take long for them to realize that he would never awake from his sleep anymore.
Usually AC books fall between a comfortable two to three hundred pages but this book is a tad longer. Perhaps due to the espionage and secret society theme which is my least fave of AC books, I was not as entertained as I usually would be when reading an AC. However, it was still written by the Queen of Crime and her writing was as tantalising as per her usual standard.

Itâs always a bad sign when a book starts with an essay (written by a âNew York Times bestselling authorâ Iâve never heard of) telling you that the book doesnât actually suck. No, itâs actually a brilliant satire. All the critics just donât appreciate the brilliance.)
Donât buy that nonsense. It may have some satire within, but itâs largely just a very dull mystery. By the time you get to the end you reach a point of âwho cares any longer.â Also, Bundle is also not an especially interesting detective, which is why she likely only appears in two books.
Unless youâre reading the entire Christie bibliography as I am, you can skip this one.

I do love Agatha Christie's writing. I never can guess correctly who the culprit is and this story was no different. Brilliant as usual. This particular book was a little harder for me to get into, but I absolutely came to love the characters and the plot and everything else about this story. If you like mysteries, reading Agatha Christie is a must and I recommend this one to anyone who likes secret gangs and intrigue.

In terms of plot, I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first Inspector Battle, however I enjoyed the story being from Bundle's viewpoint. She is a kick!
