A couple of exciting stories from the early part of Doc Savage's career. In "The Lost Oasis", a million-dollar offer to meet the Man of Bronze makes a stir in New York, and by the time the ghost zeppelin takes everyone to Africa, there's more than enough excitement for everyone. "The Sargasso Ogre" starts immediately afterwards, with Doc and the Five deciding to take the luxury liner Cameronic back to the States. Too bad the man callled Bruze has other plans for the ship!

The writer is just a little too fond of telling us just how awesome Doc Savage is, it took a while for Lester Dent to get the hang of letting Doc's amazing activities speak for themselves. We're also introduced to some kickass women, who alas mostly do said kicking in the backstory of each novel. (Let's face it, once Doc is in the room, he just naturally takes the spotlight and the majority of the action.)
