This book takes off quickly and kept me captivated until the end. This is a unique take with the serial killer. There is tension throughout. The supporting characters help in shaping the story and helping you understand the main characters motivations.

Listened to this audiobook for my book club. Oduye is a fantastic narrator. Perhaps my favorite from the audiobooks I've listened to. This was incredibly fast-paced and very enjoyable. Korede is a protagonist that you give your entire heart to. I thought the title was a little cliche, so I wasn't going in with extremely high expectations, but I enjoyed it immensely. The short chapters made for a very good listening experience. I definitely recommend for anyone who wants something short but still very impactful.

Loved the writing style and short chapters, really leant itself to the fast pace of the book. A nice mix of reflection and plot/action. Interesting examination of the sisters relationship and expectation. Like that the ending left the reader with a resolution of sorts, but plenty to keep thinking about.

Short read, but very cutting and thrilling! I really liked the writing style and Korede's voice, and especially her relationship with her sister Ayoola. I felt like I never quite got a super good read on Ayoola and her motives, since she seemed to be capricious in her relationship with Korede, but I really liked the moments where I could see her trying to help Korede in her own way. And Korede finally seeing through Tade when she challenges him to explain what he likes about Ayoola... I also really liked how we would get bits and pieces of their past with their father and how his treatment of them helped shape their relationship.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ending, on the one hand I kind of like it because
I love a regressive character arc
, but I also felt a little bit blindsided by it, and I'm still not really sure what it means for Korede and her relationship with Ayoola beyond the events of the book.

This book was short, but packed a punch. I really enjoyed it! It’s all about the sisters relationship and family trauma.
