I've been reading Heartstopper for years but this is the first of Oseman's novels that I've read. I was really pleasantly surprised! Her prose is very readable, and I was really impressed by Oseman's ability to create characters that I felt sympathetic toward, even if I so rarely agreed with them and what they did.
I'm kind of put off by some of the reviews here claiming that this book presents being Aro-Ace as the only way to be asexual, when I didn't feel that way about it at all. Yes,
Spoilerthe main character Georgia is aromantic asexual. But she literally comes to terms with this after meeting and befriending fellow students who are homoromantic asexual and aromantic bisexual. So how is this novel only treating being aroace as a valid identity? I have to disagree with that.
Moreover, the book literally states that asexuality is a spectrum of different experiences and feelings, so I don't think that Oseman is invalidating people whose asexuality manifests differently at all. I think the novel is very tasteful in its approach to different sexualities and the intersections with race, which, frankly, is more than most other books can say.
Yeah, overall, I read this book very quickly and I felt like it was a good, honest look at asexuality and the difficulties that asexual people face. I'd recommend it!

Já osobně miluju komiksovou i seriálovou verzi.

Literally didn’t even get 50 pages in. I couldn’t stand the way everyone sounded like children. They supposed to be in university. Maybe it’s because I’m moving away from reading YA, so the characters are too young for me anyways.. but i just couldn’t read it.

The other thing is that I read this book hoping that I’d maybe understand the main character. Sex isnt something I care about, and I’m just still trying to figure out what that means for me. But Georgia is sex repulsed and that’s not my experience. It also made it seem like this is the only way to be asexual, which I know isn’t true. So I just stopped reading.
