Lucas and Juliet couldn’t be more different from each other. But from the moment Lucas sees Juliet, he swears he remembers their first kiss. Their first dance. Their first fight. He even knows what’s going to happen between them—not because he can predict the future, but because he claims to have already lived it.
Juliet doesn’t know whether to be afraid for herself or for Lucas. As Lucas’s memories occur more frequently, they also grow more ominous. All Juliet wants is to keep Lucas safe with her. But how do you hold on to someone you love in the present when they’ve begun slipping away from you in the future?

This book isn't quite what I expected. I enjoyed it and it had me hooked, but I was expecting something more like the musical "The Last Five Years"
The story is written almost like a letter to Lucas, or a journal; everything is seen and told from Juliet's point of view, skipping to the important or memorable parts.
Juliet is relatively likeable. She wants to be a lawyer, she hangs out with her mildly annoying best friend, she's a typical teenager. I was rooting for her and Lucas from the beginning. And Lucas, for most of the story, is perfect and adorable in all the right ways.

I didn't like that it was never explained how he was able to remember the future. I also didn't like the ending. It was setting up for a different ending for the entire book and I was prepared and waiting for it. When that didn't happen, I felt let down. Overall though, very enjoyable.

"I said I would never forget. And I didn’t.
Lucas: I remember you."

2015 Reading Challenge #04: A book published this year.

"What I really wanted from Lucas was Lucas. Undiluted, uncopied, unphotographed, unprocessed Lucas. I didn’t want to share him. I wanted it to be just him and me. Alone."

"I wanted to be the self I was before Lucas, before his secrets, before everything had gotten so complicated. Or at least, I sort of wanted that. I didn’t want it enough to give Lucas up."

Spoiler
“When you die, you do see your life flash before your eyes,” Lucas said.
“Okay,” I said.
“The flashing—it’s where you and I are right now. All this time that we’ve been together, I’ve been in Baghdad too, or somewhere, dying. Seeing you, being here—it’s been a gift. From… the universe.”

I JUST FINISHED THIS BOOK AND OH MY GOODNESS IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!

Okay. I have the crazies out so now I can talk normally. First, I wanted to say that I was expecting something less exciting since Cathleen Davitt Bell also writes under the name C.D. Bell and her Weregirl trilogy can be a little slow at times. Also, this book was much more romantic than the Weregirl books. Not in a bad way! Nope, this book was so completely adorable and I was loving every second of the sweet romance between Lucas and Juliet.

I want to say so much more, but I’d just be spoiling the book. I loved this book, but for people who don’t like a lot of drama, I don’t recommend this. Also, even though it is not slow like some of the other books by this author, it’s not very fast either. It goes at a nice pace that makes you crazy for more.

I loved this book so much and I wish that we could know what happens next. This was such a beautiful story and I’m so happy that my friend recommended it to me.

Happy Reading!!!!

This book was beautifully written and just so poignant in my opinion. I understand that this book might not be for everyone, but I just loved the relationship between the Juliet and Lucas and how Lucas's dreams tie in to everything. It was just really interesting to read about. This book made me so emotional reading it, like I could feel what the characters were feeling. Plus I alway worried about what was going to happen to Lucas. I definitely think it's worth it to give this book a try. The book is slow paced in some areas like the fact that we're constantly waiting to see what will happen to Lucas , but also fast paced in term of the relationship between Juliet and Lucas. Honestly I'm downplaying how emotional this book has made me felt. I'm feeling all the feels right now.

Such a gorgeous cover, and me being intrigued by time travel I had high hopes. Instead I found this book a little strange, and unbelievable. I never bought in the premise that a 16 year old girl never gave up yearning for her true love.

I really did not enjoy this book so almost 200 hundred pages in i decided i would read the ending and if it was really good I'd continue. It wasn't, so i'm done. I though i could pull through but I have the time to waste reading bad books

I loved the main characters in this book - they felt so life like and rang true to someone who was a kid in the 90s.

The plot circles on Lucas 'remembering' his future. He has dreams about dying in Iraq and it both brings him together with Juliet and pushes them apart too. When the dreams stop and he doesn't remember anything they go their separate ways only to be brought back together because of those same memories.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm only rating it 4 stars, because I didn't like Rosemary (the best friend of Juliet) and her whole subplot with Dex and the crazy Jason. Any time she was on the page I found myself cringing.
