The Bone Hacker by Kathy Reichs is #22 in the Tempe Brennan series. I hate to say it's a typical Brennan book because that sounds bad, but it is exactly what you want from Brennan.

Mostly set in Turks and Caicos, we're given an entirely new set of characters for Brennan to work with.

I won't say more because I enjoyed the surprises, although I was irked that I picked up on a clue before it pinged for Brennan. But hey, this was a fun ride.

Not my fav of the Tempe Brennan series. Felt a little coincidental and lacked the tension and pacing of some of the earlier novels.

Ce n'est pas son meilleur selon moi, mais il reste très bon.  Intrigue soutenue, de nouveaux personnages que l'on apprécie ou que l'on aime détester.

This was the first temperance brennan book I've read so maybe not ideal to jump in the middle after only knowing the tv show. As a tv show fana few differences were jarring, like they live in Montreal with random bits of French sprinkled throughout the text. I found book Brennan to be a bit more abbrasive than tv show Brennan.
Anyway, the book was a pretty standard murder investigation story. A bit of danger and false leads before neatly tying everything up with a bow in the last few pages.
