Sandra Brown writes “popcorn thrillers.” They’re easy and quick to read, there’s nothing really too taboo in them but they still have dark themes. Plus, there’s almost always an element of romance in them. The spice usually doesn’t get too spicy, but it’s still enjoyable.
Chill Factor has always been one of my favorite Sandra Brown books, and I’ve read quite a few of them. Not to go off on too much of a tangent, but I tend not to rate mystery/thriller books higher than a 3, just because once the mystery part is solved, most of the thrill and enjoyment falters.
Regardless, Chill Factor features forced proximity during a blizzard while there’s a serial killer on the loose. The twist was good and I didn’t guess it, but I did guess a different twist very early on. Still a good read if you want something fun and easy.

I really liked this book (which has always been the case when I pick up a Sandra Brown book) and had a really hard time putting it down. There's so many twists and turns you never know what's gonna happen next, and just when you think you've figured out who the killer is...nope!
I do however agree with another reviewer on the point of most of the characters are weird and very unlikeable. Cleary, N.C. is the epitome of a backwoods, red-neck, hillbilly southern town. The only characters I really liked were Lilly and Tierny, everyone else was creepy and seriously messed up.
That aside though, the plot and direction of the story were excellent. You never know which way the tale's gonna go, and the ending was a complete surprise and very satisfying. I've never before been disappointed with one of Ms. Brown's books, and this was surely no exception.

I had a genuine ‘whattt??’ moment every 10 pages while reading this. Honestly I didn’t know who the killer was my suspicions jumped around like crazy. And this town goes crazy! I mean there was just one killer but half the people in this town deserve JAIL. Our main gal lily was super cool though. Y’know how in horror movies it’s always like ‘if this bitch just did this the credits would be rolling already’? In this I honestly was like ‘I’d probably have done that too’ so props to Sandra for keeping it real. Great read. 4.5 stars.

This one had me going!! I was invested from the beginning. And multiple times I found myself flipping back the pages to the beginning to make sure that I had read it correctly. I was constantly second guessing what I thought I knew about these characters and who did what. Very well done.
