This is a book well outside my wheel house and normal reading zone. But I’m glad I read it. A truly enlightening view into the 2Spirit experience. It’s tough at times just due to the graphic language and trauma but I found it well worth the discomfort. What’s a little discomfort to hear someone’s truth?

This book is really worth reading. The narrative is a story that I don’t think I’ve read before, there are very few first person narratives from two-spirit individuals and I enjoyed the point of view. I also loved the authenticity and the love that was shown all the characters, sharing both their beauty and they faults. My only reason it wasn’t a 5 is because I had a hard time keeping track of the timeline and ages of the main character
