Tempting Scrooge Anthology

4 Stars

This is a set of great books of different "heat" levels to change the Scrooge inside of you! Most of the books involve a "Scrooge" who needs to find the real happiness of Christmas!

His Christmas Miracle by Kaithlin Shepard

Aria Whitley moved to Jackson, Wyoming with her seven year old daughter Alexis after getting divorced. Little did she expect to meet Jayce Connelly who visits her bakery everyday but has no interest in a relationship and hates Christmas, Aria's favorite holiday. Yet, when Aria is unable to give Alexis the Christmas she wants to, will Jayce pull through?

This was a great book at moving on and why it's hard to let go of the meaning that certain holidays bring when they are attached to events in life. I loved the reasons Jayce was there for Alexis and Aria and how they helped him heal and provide him with a Christmas miracle!

Presents and Possibilities by V.Cantrell

Lily James is the manager of Creative Image, an event planning firm that is in danger of losing the city's contract unless she can convince Tyler Stone, the owner of Stone's BBQ to cater the event.

Unfortunately Tyler has no love for Christmas, and no desire to do the city's Christmas event, but his attraction to Lily may change his mind.

This was a sweet story about finding love at the right time and waiting for the right time to make your move! I loved Tyler's character and how possessive he was over Lily, right from the beginning! Great story about moving on from the past.

Seducing Mr.Scrooge by Katherine May

Ariana Gilbert has just landed a new job in Boston, working for her high school crush Jude Shepard. Only he has no recollection of her and it is no surprise why he has had so many secretaries in a short amount of time. Only, Ariana isn't prepared to give up on her dream man yet, even when he announces that she will have to work on Christmas instead of being with her family.

Ariana begins to scheme her way into making this a Christmas that may make Jake change his opinion on Christmas.

I enjoyed this story and how Jude managed to see the importance of Christmas to those around him, even if he initially did not feel the same.

Belle's Christmas Miracle by Mari Brown

Six years ago Sierra Connor made the most difficult choice of her life by walking away from the love of her life Cage Sawyer. Cage was dealing drugs and sleeping with too many different women and Sierra needed to start over.

Yet, she finds herself back in town looking for Cage in hopes that he can help the daughter he knows nothing about who is fighting for her life. But Cage isn't happy that Sierra has kept this from him and that she walked away when he needed her most.

I really enjoyed this story and the emotions that came with it. It is a story of forgiveness and trying to save yourself when you feel like you can't save the one you love and how they need to change to save themselves on their own. I loved the bond that Cage had with his aunt Sheila and loved the warmth of her character! A really great read!

A Christmas Makeover by Amy McClung

Thatcher Cole hates Christmas due to a rough childhood and the wonderful present his ex-wife gave him three years ago. Unfortunately his next renovating job is for Skye Noel who absolutely loves Christmas on her new house.

The temperature inside Skye's new place just got hotter as Thatcher moves in to get the job completed in time and the two share an interest in the other. But Thatcher doesn't want to get close to any woman again, especially one that loves the holiday that he hates!

I liked the dynamic of the two and how both chose to react to their life situations to different ways. I think this is so prevalent in today's society and I enjoyed seeing how everything went down.

All Wrapped Up by Lola Stark

Rory Reynolds is ready for a new start in a new town after her fiancé tells her he doesn't love her anymore. On her flight Rory meets the mysterious Jasper and begins flirting with him and joking with him, thinking she will never see him again.

But she does and it's instant passion. But Jasper has an unexpected ghost in his past and will Rory be able to move on when she discovers it?

I really liked this "hot" story as it constantly made me laugh! There were so many humorous parts to it and it was easy to fall in love with both Rory and Jasper.

Mistletoe and Scrooge by Debra Elise

Grant Conrad hates Christmas but is desperate for a date for an event with Kemper Technologies. His assistant, Kathleen McMannis arranges for her neice Sophie to go with him. Sophie runs her own party business and absolutely loves Christmas! She is going to do everything she can to change Grant's mind!

This was a great story and I absolutely loved Lily Ann Dupree! I think the book really shows the good of the holiday in making everyone feel happy, no matter where they are. I think it also makes you really think about the troubles that you have and how they may feel big but that generally things could be worse and just stick with it and be happy!

Mistletoe by Vanessa Morse

Holly Mills has every reason to love Christmas, as it is her birthday but after catching her fiancé with the girl across the hall on Christmas it's no longer her favorite but this year she plans on celebrating in a big way with her best friend Skyla at the club where Ethan. Skyla's brother works. And there to look out for her is Aaron, Ethan's friend.

But after something goes wrong will Holly find out what happened with Aaron and is he what she has been looking for?

This book had some scary events and I couldn't imagine what would have happened if it wasn't Aaron. I loved seeing how Holly interacted with her family and there was definitely a lot of laughs!

A Christmas Wish Come True by Ann Grech

Declan is a secret founding owner of City of Sin, one of the hottest underground gay sex clubs but is still in the closet himself, afraid of what his mom, step-father and straight step-brother Ollie would think of him. His club organizes a Superhero Masquerade Party where he meets Batman and he is instantly taken with him and they proceed to have a night of passion. But, Declan is conflicted with his feelings towards the mysterious Batman and those for his step-brother Ollie.

This was a great book and I loved the communication between Declan and his mom. I think sometimes the truth isn't as hidden as we tend to think it is and acceptance can be easier to get than we thought. I loved the heat between Declan and Batman and believe that the chemistry they had was real!

The Christmas Hunt by KD Robichoux

Kayla has finally found her dream guy with Jason, the tatted-up bad boy that she has always wanted. But this Christmas something seems to be wrong with Jason and Kayla's not sure what is up.

I am assuming that this is about the author herself but it wasn't until I wrote the review until I figured it out. I liked the humour in the book with what Kayla wanted for Christmas and that maybe what Kayla thought she wanted wasn't really what she wanted after all.

Seducing St.Nick by Danielle Jamie

Marina Tate is the head nurse at St.Nick's Children Hospital in Boston and will be working on Christmas. Unfortunately for her the hot and really grumpy/conceited Dr. Deacon St.Nick is also working.

But a visit from the stars of the local professional football team, including the quarterback, Tanner Brady, may give a certain doctor a dose of his own medicine.

I really liked the story and the jealousy that seemed to be present with quite a few of the characters. I must admit that the ending left me hanging and I know some people love books where the ending is somewhat left to your own devices but I need completion!

Kiss and Tell by Becca Lee

Jenna has been tricked into manning the kissing booth at the community Christmas fete by her best friend Lydia. Jenna is not a fan of Christmas since her cheating husband left her and her son Sam 4 years ago, two days before Christmas. But Lydia has a plan to change Jenna's opinion and it involves her husband Jeff's best friend Nick.

As Jenna and Nick begin to talk maybe they have more in common than they initially thought and the support that Nick gives her with Phil may change her mind about Christmas!

One thing I truly loved in this story was Nick saying when we hate something due to someone else, it gives that other person power over us. I really liked that and it resonated deep with me. I loved Nick and everything he gave Jenna just by being by her side!

"His Christmas Miracle" enjoyed it very much. A sweet short Christmas story"
"loved the short stories so far. But I think my favorite is Belle's Christmas Miracle by Mari Brown. that one will put tears in your eyes."
"finally almost done!
most of this book has been good. Sweet Christmas stories. However, A Wish COme True was so not my type of read and it was very predictable. Then Seducing St. Nick ended on what I feel is a cliff-hanger. Now to finish this thing up and move on!"
