I cant even rememeber how many times I rolled my eyes in this book. The FMC is so self depricating negative , whiny and SELFISH. Constanly being emotionally manipulative. I really hate when an author tries to write about a plus size FMC and compares her to skinnier character and cant word it without tearing down the skinnier girls. Its not giving a girls girl.

This whole book felt like White Knight Syndrome and like I was reading an agenda for plus size and people who use pronouns they/them from someone who was told about the issues but do not truely under stand them it themselves. I dont mind the topics mentioned in books when it written naturally and its shown not told.

Also the they/thems used, where confusing I often thought Theo was multiples the way the sentences where structured or I found myself confused what character she was talking about.

A moments that really made me hate the FMC was that she wanted Nameless to remain stupid because she didnt want him to be smart enough to leave her. She manipulatated him constantly and took advantage of him.

Namless CARRIED this book. I only finished this because I loved his Character so much.

I love the surprise pregnancy trope but even if you don’t or straight up hate it you may still like this book because that aspect ended up way more sci fi than I expected, it doesn’t really hit the hallmark of the trope (which btw is TOTALLY fine, it lended itself to more worldbuilding). I liked this one and couldn’t put it down just like with a soul to keep. The only issue I have is with who the FMC unalives in the beginning. I wish it was just the one man, the other victim was very young even if what she was doing was wrong. Just felt like that wasn’t fully addressed but I’m glad I pushed through because the storyline veered away from that pretty quickly. I love Magnar and I’m so excited for the next one!

Opal is Epic

This is book two in the Duskwalker Bride series.
No spoilers! The agony of not spilling the spoilers is beyond beyond me at this point. Opal is a great writer. She flows the background and story of the Veil in this book and her world creating is done in a thrilling and, almost Tolkien sort of way, in that you can completely envision yourself in this realm with the ebb and flow of the characters. Delors is a splendid female lead as she is so very relatable. She is broken in the beginning and as the story weaves through, we begin to see her heal (as the title is named ;) and as we hope to read on through) and come out as a strong woman.
Our dear silly Mavka grows as well. No matter what, it is a wonderful read for anyone that is adult. Because, it is a romance and we see tenderness and care and love. Five stars out of five.
Created realm, huge character development, and spice level :)
