I'm not sure I was smart enough to understand this book. It was a wild ride though. There were times where I thought I knew what was going on, only for my expectations to be completely subverted. The prose could be dense, rich, beautiful, confusing or in three different languages, but definitely worth reading. It has also really piqued my interest to seek out some non-fiction on science and timekeeping, or perhaps some historical fiction of a similar time period!
