It's a good story, moves things along. Not my favorite, but worth a read.

I love how much characters and settings get the opportunity to grow and change in significant ways in Seanan McGuire's stories. Rose has experienced so much as the Phantom Prom Date, of course it has changed her in significant ways! And this is the book where we really get to see that. I enjoyed it immensely and I really hope there will be another book.

Loved this!

I love the ending! No spoilers but Rose is exactly the type of badass female protagonist I love in a story even though she didn’t start out that way!!!

Seanan McGuire has such talent and skill for building worlds that are complex, nuanced, and simultaneously familiar and fantastic. In this third book in the series, the planes of ghosts, their types, and their rules was thoroughly enjoyable, with constant, underlying tones of creepy and melancholy. I was also very impressed by the way in which Rose's story and character evolve through this series, and I'm looking forward to seeing where Rose goes from here.

Although this book is listed as #3 in the series, it requires reading another of the authors series (the Incryptid series) up through book #8 to understand all of the characters and the full context of the story and inciting incident.
