The story is cute and all and it is true to how cats act when they get a new sibling but the art in this is everything. I’m obsessed with Marisa Morea and yeah, I bought a picture book because of her, and yeah, I’ll be buying more. She’s so talented.

I completely empathize with Oswald Minklehoff Honey Bunny III. I, too, have a chair that I am the boss of and how dare someone else sit there! :-P

Oswald Minkelhoff Honey Bunny the 3rd has always been the centre of attention at his home and with a catty-ego to boot too. So when a little kitten comes along (named Pom-Pom), Oswald's world and demeanour are turned upside-down. Beautiful illustrations and a book my eldest loved (he's a huge cat fan) but the message about sharing is caring just felt a little too flighty for me with little emotional resonance.

Fine for a book about sharing, if you get the cat humor (not all kids will of course).

An older cat has to learn to share when a new kitty arrives in his home.
