(edit 2) in issue 4 someone accuses sandor of killing her parents so i guess we are facing a mystery here.

Anyway he went berserk on the sentient dog defending his daughter he had it coming.
But damn this is hard already conflicting feelings.
Did Marguerite really have to put us in this position two beings love and want to protect the same thing, one of them attacks the other, the other can do nothing but defend himself.
This is how we should probably look at this different beings, all equal, Don't do to them what you wouldn't like to be done to you.
