The new author was a solid decision. I really enjoyed the Nova arc.

read as single issues. this was definitely a rocky start, picking up after Mark Waid is no easy task for anyone but the introduction of Riri, Nadia, and Amka are wonderful additions to the best superhero team running now

This is definitely an improvement. Zub has a better voice for a group of young superheros, and the first two issues are definitely pointing in an interesting direction with in interesting moral dilemma (though we do get the cliche "good guys fight over misunderstanding"). Of course, because Marvel gotta Marvel, we then spend the next two issues setting up for a big crossover I don't care about. Though, they do manage to continue to develop some interpersonal relationships set up in the first two issues, particularly Riri and Viv's friendship.
