This definitely has a faster pace than the first book, and it was a fun read. The downside for me was that this volume didn't seem as thoughtful or nuanced in its character development or social/political criticism. Because it this, it didn't have the emotional pull to balance out the action scenes and felt a little bit like a mediocre Michael Bay movie. While I understand the author's choice to have the book end way that it did, it seemed a little hand-wavey. (Vague due to not wanting to include spoilers)
