There were at least two incidents that I picked up on of very problematic content/ without, which almost ruined the book for me. The first, I'm going to be honest, I don't remember. It was early on and I DID put the book down for a while afterward and my memory is an absolute seive. The second was an entirely gratuitous incident of fat phobia. My partner pointed out that it MAY have been an intentional point with respect to the little boy in the story but if so, it wax poorly executed.

Other than that I found the story very enjoyable and poignant. The writing style was grating and clumsy at times but only at times, for me.
