okay literally no idea how I found this book bc it wasn’t on my to reads and I don’t remember putting it on hold at the library. just was ready for pick up one day lol, but honestly fits with this book so well. loved the wholesome found family vibes and the magical realism made my heart so happy.

I didn’t really get what the point of the book was. I really liked the setting of the fake South Carolina island town, and the descriptions of the town were good. But the plot and the strange use of magical realism was a little weird for me

A cute book with lovable characters. The pacing felt slow at times and rushed at the end. The found family is almost always nice, but the trope felt a bit over done. Most of the reveals towards the end were interesting.

Would I read it again? Probably not. 
Would I read something else by the author? Possibly.
