Wow! Just wow! I literally could not put this book down! I found that I was quickly drawn in and then the storyline just kept building so I had to keep reading. I mean who needs sleep right!

Really well written and I was behind our main character Gabby from the start with the digging around, I know that I wouldn’t have been able to resist either!

It was brilliant and kept you guessing, there was red herrings thrown in along the way to make you think one way but actually it was something / someone else!

Honestly brilliant, the ending was unexpected - there were moments throughout reading this that I literally gasped out loud or shouted out no way as I had no idea what was coming.

This was supposed to be done as part of a readalong where you read so far each day - I couldn’t stop myself and literally devoured the book in less than 24 hours! Whoops! It was just too good!

I've chosen to read "Believe me" based on the setting of a grand house on a rugged English coastline. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that this book wasn't a good match for me.

First of all, there is the first person narrative, which I don't dislike as a whole, but in this case it reflects the very disjointed feelings of the main character. I understand what the author did as the thoughts of Gabby are a rambling mess, but reading her every thought that was jumping from here to there didn't engage me as a reader.

The same chaotic feeling applies to the storyline. It starts with domestic abuse but then it includes some sort of cult, medical gas-lighting and a con artist, juvenile crime, etc. It just felt as there were too many stories crammed into one. Especially the gas-lighting made my skin crawl, as I cannot understand why someone who gets dismissed by a doctor doesn't get a second opinion. These events take place 25 years ago, and I was an adult back then, it's not as if it were the dark ages where women didn't have anything to say about their bodies. I found this very difficult to read.

Then I get to the mystery, which was very obvious as there were two possibilities and one of them proved to be right.

A sincere thanks to NetGalley, Thomas & Mercer and the author for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Decent thriller, not as good as Say Her Name. The villain and method was somewhat obvious, but it did keep me guessing that maybe I was wrong. πŸ˜‚  Definitely a non stop read, just the climax was pretty meh.

Thank you such much Tandem and Amazon publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and for having me on the readalong!

While working on what should be a simple property dispute, Gabby discovers the owner is her mother. Her mother died 25 years ago.

I have read another book by these authors and they have nailed it once again!

This was a difficult one to put down with a complex yet easy to follow story! On day 5 of the readalong, I did guess the twist at the end - I need to stop doing this

This was a fantastic thriller with lots of twists and turns. At times I had an inkling of what was coming but I never really figure it out until the end. I loved the characters and the way they developed over time. My only complaint was in maybe not feeling like a I had a completely clear picture of why the person who β€œdid it” was motivated.

I received this book from a Goodreads Giveaway.
The book was well written and error free.
It is written in the first person, which a lot of people dislike but I didn't mind.
The idea behind the story was a good one but it just didn't come together well for me.
There was too much going on so it was hard to lock down what the actual plot of the book was.
I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had just focused on the story of how women were treated by men of medicine instead of throwing in the murder mystery and all the family drama.
I honestly am glad to be finished with it after forcing myself to read the last 70 pages.

Gabby is a lawyer & shocked to discover her Mother's name on the title deeds.  Her Mother passed 25 years ago & suffered excruciating pains that couldn't be explained.  Gabby starts to feel the same pains as her Mother, is she suffering the same or is she being paranoid?

Thanks to @tandemcollectiveuk for sending me this book & a place on the Readalong!

I found this easy to read & liked the short chapters with the past & present storylines.

The twists were great & I had no idea who the culprit was & how they were doing it!

A chilling and fast paced thriller about the strength and determination of women and how they struggle to get professionals to take them seriously within society. So as much as this is a suspense novel it also comes with an added message which really stood out for me.

The characters are well developed, I really liked Gabby and how focused and determined she was to find the truth despite the risks she faced.

The dual timeline provides much needed history but it doesn't make it any easier to pinpoint the suspect and the twists and turns throughout definitely kept me guessing.

I for one didn't see the ending coming and was truly shocked. It made the story for me so much better because I love it when my suspicions are wrong.

A great compelling story that if you enjoy being on the edge of your seat and unable to put a book down I highly recommend you read.

A huge thank you to @tandemcollectiveuk for providing me with a copy of the book and a place on this readalong.
