Well... this second book is not for the faint of heart. There are not many bright or happy moments at all. The flashbacks Kade uses to escape the fucked up things happening to him are cute, but also super sad and the flashbacks from Stacey are just traumatic. That being said if you're not a kid person this book might be hard to read. We learned in the first book about Stacey's miscarriage, but in this book, I think it was mentioned in almost EVERY chapter. Which for someone who is not fond of children and will never have children by choice obviously a miscarriage is terribly sad but I just can not wrap my head around why she would want to have another kid after something like that. And it was talked about nonstop how they wanted to try again for a family and I personally was just so tired of hearing about it. It drove me insane and I actually thought about not finishing the book at one point because I was like if this is foreshadowing that they have a kid later on I'm gonna be pissed. Aside from the kid stuff I did like this book, it was pretty depressing but I think it was in order to hopefully set us up for HEA :)
