Being a fan of stories with "mythical creatures", I was really excited to read this book. The book started to slow at first, which bothered me a little, because it makes me bored and want to skip some pages (which I didn't do btw!). But when they introduced Tamlin, damn, it got better.

it’s the first time i felt this bored reading a book and i mean it. i hated the « first » 300 pages or so,, and at some point i really wondered why i was putting myself through this suffering. and then the part with the trials came and i finally enjoyed the book. i felt relieved to not have read until then for nothing. would i do it again? no. was it worth it? yes

Possibly 4.5 stars. A few things frustrated me but generally really enjoyed this book. Lucien and Rhysand were particularly good characters.
