So appreciate how real Molly is. I was frustrated with her in just about every other scene, but it was so great to watch her figure out how to be herself, imperfections and all.

I hadn't read the first book, which didn't matter in terms of plots but did affect my understanding of the characters a little. I liked the plot but didn't really connect to the characters; I liked the dumped boyfriend better than the one she ended up with, for instance.

Still it was a good read, and I'll try to look out the first one to see if it changes my feelings any.

Receiving an ARC did not affect my review in any way.

For YA fiction this series packed a mature punch. Molly and Gabe have grown up a little over a year and their stories mature with them. I liked this series and think the author did a great job telling it.

These characters continue to be messy and flawed and I continue to love them.

I read 99 days (the first book in this series) a couple of years ago and although I wasn't a huge fan of the book...I decided that I needed to see where Molly Barlow ended up. The book was definitely a quick read with only a little more than 200 pages and my sister and I read it in less than 24 hours. The storyline of the book itself was interesting, but I still wasn't a huge fan of Molly's character. Although she was attempting to reinvent herself, I still found her kind of annoying and whiny. That being said...that's just who she is (by the end of the book her character wasn't horrible). As much as I wanted Gabe and Molly to be together, I ultimately feel bad for Ian. As I read the last sentence of the book, I was confused because I couldn't decide whether I actually enjoyed reading it or not. Nothing against the author...but it just wasn't my favorite read.

I don´t know. I always love a good romance contemporary but this story just didn´t do it for me. I never quite fell in love with the characters, specially not our female protagonist. And well...I do think she was a little more mature than in the first book, but still annoyed me for some reason.

Just not my cup of tea...

Katie Cotugno holds a major place in my heart and I think 99 Days is my favorite book of hers. There's always a big part of me that is super excited to get to visit favorite characters and another part of me that just wants to leave them alone and not ruin it. This was a good revisiting of Molly and Gabe. This book made me feel so many things and felt so authentic to the characters and their story. It wasn't always easy to read and there were parts that made me so mad/sad, but it was still so good. Now that I work with teenagers I always struggle with whether books show modern teens authentically and I think there were a few things here that made me think twice. First, there's a mention of someone having cable. I cannot picture 18 year olds having cable. Plus, they were never on their phones! Where's the Snapchatting and Instagramming? But seriously, minor things compared to how great this story is.

Book #13: In my opinion, I’d give this a 4/5. I just have a thing for Katie Cotugno. Loved her 99 days - a great young adult read/ doesn’t make me miss the girl drama. The only thing I wish, is that I read this sequel closer to reading the first one so that I could remember the details of Molly and Gabe’s summer better. Loved how the reunion turned out between the two. My take away: be who you are, those that are worthy will recognize it and that’s who you deserve #boom
