This book covers a very fascinating topic in an accessible way for younger/ middle grade readers. I had no idea that there were once rhinos in the US! Definitely an easy read for adults, and an informative semi-challenging read for kids. 4/5 stars (I think more pictures would have helped the content.)

This was a very fascinating book about finding a version of Rhinos and other similar beasts that are nowadays found on the African plains being found in Nebraska.
I really enjoyed learning about some of the different kinds of horses, Zebras and other critters whose bones were discovered near an area that was believed to have once been a popular watering hole for the animals.
I highly recommend checking out this book if you have an interest in paleontology.

I used to be in love with paleontology as a kid and I was very excited to receive this book. This book details the discovery, animals, and the work that is being done to record and study the animals found at this site. The illustrations are wonderful and I loved the illustrations that took up two pages. The science is easy to understand and the terminology is fully explained to where it can be easily understood by the target audience. I would have loved to read this book as a kid and I highly recommend this book to anyone who has a child interested in paleontology.
I received a copy from a Goodreads giveaway.

The first part is a bit of an info dump but the flow was much better after about 30%.

I have never heard about this place until reading this book. My kids and I plan on taking a vacation to Nebraska and now this place is on our must visit. Who knew that we had a place in this country that was so much like the African Savannah. This book increase the excitement my 10-year-old who wants to be a paleontologist has about visiting this park. The book was very informative the narration was great and it really made you want to go and visit this place
