I'm having a very hard time coming with a review for Jekyll & Hyde.
It's a classic, we all know it at least a little.
I adore the musical and have seen some movies so I know the story quite well. But reading the book is an entirely different feeling.
It's good but too short. I felt like everything happened all at once and that there was little room for any kind of development.
For it being one of the most well renown novels of all time, I was expecting a lot more. I actually like the adaptions of it better. But of course, those wouldn't exist without the original.

I don't generally go for the "mad scientist creates a monster" kind of fiction. I hated Frankenstein. However, this was absolutely fantastic. Short, interesting and really creepy. Definitely worth your time... and then some.

London lawyer Mr. Utterson recounts the tale of his upstanding client Dr. Henry Jekyll and a murderous criminal named Edward Hyde. When Dr. Jekyll makes a surprising change to his will that leaves all of his money to Mr. Hyde, Mr. Utterson begins investigating. He soon learns that Dr. Jekyll has created a concoction that turns him into Mr. Hyde...which allows him to engage in various vices without sullying the name of Jekyll. But the transformations soon take over Dr. Jekyll: Hyde's personality is too powerful for Jekyll and the concoction no longer works until Mr. Utterson finds Mr. Hyde dead in his laboratory.
