Completely silly and lots of fun.

This is a great story and I love Angleberger and Bell. Unfortunately, there is a "peg leg pirate" character that I think is ableist and insensitive. The plant and goat love stories are also heteronormative.

This was a quick easy read. I really didn't like it and have a hard time seeing my students liking it. But one thing I have learned is I am sometimes way off trying to judge Middle school taste. I will update when a student gives their opinion.

Fell a little flat for me, but pretty OK.

Follow the hilarious (mis)adventures of Inspector Flytrap and his goat assistant. Looking forward to more hijinks with this pair!

Quick comment: kids will probably get a kick out of this but I find it supremely disappointing that the book centers on a character(s) that ruin the lives of the people they're supposed to be helping and it's presented as hilarious, slapstick situations to children. As far as teaching moments go, this book has none on its own.

I read this. I guess I forgot to review it? No worries! I had planned to read the rest in the series. It's pretty funny.

Meh. 1.5 stars. Didn't hate it, but didn't like it enough to give it a full 2 stars.

I had high hopes, given the powerhouse duo that is Tom Angleberger and Cece Bell. I was stoked about the possibility of a new graphic novel-ish series for my school library collection. I think some kids would like it; after all, there's a book for every reader, and this very well may be the book for some of those readers.

I found the characters annoying, the plot weak, and the dialogue repetitive and, frankly, dumb. I know I am not the target audience here. However, there are plenty of books for which I am not the target audience that I love and adore. Just sayin'...

A perfectly comical romp of a book ideal for early middle grade comedians :)
