I have no idea why I'm reading this series backwards but I love it lol. This wasn't my favorite. But I can acknowledge as a pagan the use of the character and author being Christian but not making the story unpalatable. The sex scenes are superb. I do wish there was a toy usage seen. Otherwise for a book with Christianity military and hetero usage its not overdoing it. The disability deaf representation was good addition.

To say this was a disappointment is an understatement. About 1/2way through, I was bored senseless and had to skim the rest. Boring and predictable…most rom-coms are predictable, but in a fun way that makes you want to see how it gets to the predictable ending. These characters were annoying at best. I could care less as to how they ended up together.

A bit corny in my opinion. Just the way they talked to each other felt unnatural. I do like the story though, so I can’t say too much. Just how their relationship got widespread was off too. I think it could’ve been a cleaner storyline. Also, the conflict in the story wasn’t that much to keep you interested. Like so they got found out for being a couple, what does it really matter? Could’ve been so much more. Taylor’s story was real though. The story of feeling inadequate along with being invalidated and still pushing through. I like that.

Initial Response: 3.5/5; Recommend?: 2/5; Re-Readability: 2.5/5 Characters: 2.5/5; Plot: 3/5
Overall: 2.7/5
Would Purchase?: Yes

I accidentally read this series out of order, and loved book 3 so much that I was happy to see my library added this audiobook recently. Sadly, The Dating Playbook wasn’t as engaging, and I didn’t find myself loving either main character. I got tired of the repetitive defensive responses from the FMC about her family or doing something for herself. Whilst I appreciated the plot line regarding Taylor's undiagnosed learning disability, I didn't like the way the author utilised it at times.

I also didn't really get the romantic connection in this one, and whilst the steamy scenes were tastefully shared, the execution was lacking for me.

I don't think I'll pick up book 1 now, admittedly.
