Cat Sebastian is so talented at writing romances that are soft and sweet, with characters that quietly make space for each other in their lives. In this we have a PTSD-struck veteran doctor and a world-weary spy fall for each other in post-WWII England, with a murder-mystery in the foreground and a village full of quirky characters with secrets in the background.

The writing was atmospheric and grounded in the era in which it was set, almost bleak at times. I grew up in a small English village not unlike Wychomb St. Mary and the descriptions felt very true-to-life. The mystery was very credible and fun to solve along with the characters.

Audiobook (All of my entries on The Story Graph are audiobooks.)
Why I added this book to my TBR pile: I have wanted to read something by Cat Sebastian since her books showed up in my suggestions list as a result of reading The Will Darling Adventures. Not all of Sebastian's book are available as audiobooks through Overdrive, so I bought the audio version of Hither, Page during a half price Audible sale.
Will I read more of the series? Probably Not Maybe Likely Most Likely Definitely It wasn't until I was at the halfway point of this book that I warmed up to the characters and decided I could listen to part two of the series. I just have to wait for another Audible sale to get it.
The narrator was  Joel Leslie. He was a little pathetic with Page at times, but otherwise okay.
