Boruto??? Is actually good???? 🤯
I read Naruto for the first time 10 years ago, and then followed it weekly until it's conclusion. When Boruto started, however, I was very apathetic towards it and found no reason to continue reading. After seeing tiktoks about Boruto's recent arc recently, though, I decided to give the sequel a try.
Dude. I did not expect to enjoy it this much. Kawaki is so INTERESTING. I loved getting the chance to spend some time with adult Naruto, and he felt really in character even if he's now all grown-up. Boruto, in contrast, feels really distinct from his precedessor while still maintaining the qualities that made Naruto so fun to read about and follow.
My main gripe with the manga is the same gripe I have with Naruto - the female characters are constantly getting relegated or oversimplified. Sakura and Hinata barely appear, despite Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru holding leading roles, and when they do, they're reduced to their mother figure roles. Let Sakura punch something 2023!!!
Also - SARADA'S COSTUME DESIGN 🤮 She's 12!!! Why is she wearing HEELS TO FIGHT IN!!! Sakura got to wear flat shoes (and actual leggings) twenty years ago!!!
TLDR; Boruto suprisingly good - would recommend. Let Sarada's first act as Hokage be to ban heels.

This was a pretty good volume. After Kawaki Arc, we finally turn to Code, the only remaining member of Kara. Code plans to get revenge because he worships Isshiki as a god and the heroes want to eliminate him for obvious reasons. I love Kawaki's character development and though I like Amado, he still feels very shady. I'm not really sure yet but the new characters Eida and Daemon look interesting. Boruto's future is unclear, Kawaki does not know what to do, Code and the others are strong, Naruto and Sasuke got nerfed. There are lots of things going on and I'm curious to see what happens next.
