A Hawaiian man, Keawe, is manipulated into buying a bottle that has a magic imp, who will grant you wishes. Unfortunately, there's a price and to get rid of it, he must sell it for less than he bought it, and if he can't he'll be damned.
This is fun and feels somewhat like a darker version of Aladdin, but set in Hawaii. I'm always a sucker for stories that put emphasis on the consequences of getting what you wish for. I like how the story is mostly set in Hawaii, instead of Europe, for a change. Keawe, the main character, made me roll my eyes as the story progressed. He kept making dumb decisions and not taking credit for his own actions. There is a romance, though its very insta-love (Didn't like that.), and the whiny bitch kept blaming her for his predicament later in the story. Sadly, the female character barely has a personality, though she had potential, and I wish she had made things for more difficult for him to woo her. I do wish it was a bit longer, but that's how I feel with most short stories. I like the story, but the characters could use a little more complexity.
