After finishing Me Before You, I thought I couldn't bear it to read the second book. In a way, I felt just like Lou: I couldn't imagine what happens now, after Will. It seemed wrong to imagine her with someone else, with another job, with another life.
But after some time I wanted to know what became of her, how she coped with everything and who this "person on her doorstep" was.

So after nearly 6 months I've finally found the time to read the sequel of Me Before You, and I'm glad I did. You see, these books are not just romance-books, where there will be a happy ending and much cliche. These books teach you important life lessons and make you think of yourself.
Even if I had never lost someone that close to me, the books touched me very much.

Jojo Moyes has this way of writing, that sucks you right into the middle of the story and won't let you go even long after you've finished the book. You can feel everything that Lou feels, you cry with her in the hard times, and smile in the happy ones.
I think there's a little bit of Lou in everyone of us. At some point of life, everyone struggles with it, with the decisions that need to be made, and the surprises, that aren't always good ones.
And Jojo Moyes managed to bring these feelings into words.

The book tells us, that even after the worst experiences, we can be strong and find a way up to be happy again. Just like Lou, maybe we need some time, make bad decisions and experience some other cruel things, but if we never give up and let others help us, there is a chance of happiness again.

I loved this books so much more than the first. I laughed, I sobbed, I screamed, I felt every emotion there is to feel while reading this incredible book. Beautifully written, completely relatable. I just can’t put into words how much I loved this book! If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would!

After waiting 7 years to finally pick up this book, I was a little disappointed. I loved book #1 and sobbed my eyes out at the beautiful symmetry. I was really looking forward to how Louisa Clark would start rebuilding her life after Will Traynor. But I was hoping for a much better plot line then what I got. I know that it would not be easy for her, but the incidents she gets herself into, it all made me feel like I was reading an unrealistic story and not very exciting. The only part I enjoyed was the meeting Lily, for I feel like that added some good plotline. Overall, I understand the theme is to show how life can be hard to move on after death, but definitely expected excitement.

One thing first, I really really loved reading about Lou and her crazy family again. I love the way Jojo writes her books.

That said... this book was a bit of a disappointment :< And that's not Jojo's fault at all, because she wrote everything that happens after losing someone perfectly. I guess my expectations were just way too high after Me before you.

The whole Lily thing felt a bit forced, even if it did help Lou move on.

I think I would've liked it more if there was more Sam in the book, he was really good but he felt more like a side story :<

So, that said. I did really love this book, I just felt like it didn't really add much to the story of Lou and Will. Like it was a very long aftermath of a very very good book.

In my heart I identified with Lou, but my brain was like, “nah, you’re her mom”

This sequel was not necessary IMO. I appreciated Jojo Moyes exploring the grief Louisa Clark experiences with the loss of Will Traynor and the process of moving forward with her life. But that was truly the only quality I liked in this book.

The new characters introduced were flat out annoying (here’s to looking at you Lily) or forgettable. The romantic love interest barely had any chemistry with Lou. No value was added here - I think fans of Me Before You can skip on this one.

I've found that Adult Contemporary really isn't my thing and it bores me slightly. I felt like this book was maybe just a money maker after the success of Me Before You. I hate saying things like this because a book is someone's hard work and effort but there was no need for this sequel. There were a few shocks in the mix but the majority of this book was everyday boring things like getting up and going to work, eating, sleeping etc. I also can't believe how unlucky Louisa is, it's a little bit unrealistic to be honest.

Overall, I hate to say that I really wasn't keen on this book but that's just because of my taste. If you enjoy Adult Contemporaries then maybe this is more your cup of tea than mine.
