I went into this book with an open mind as I wasn’t sure about it sounded interesting. I did take me a moment to get into the story but, it did eventually happen. I genuinely liked the story but a few things through me off. This is mainly the constant mention of Tir’s gray skin. It was compared early on to zombie flesh and that stuck with me. This made the intimacy between characters slightly off putting. The writing however, allowed me to get into the story and into the main characters making it an interesting read.
I do have to say that am definitely not a fan of the ending. I would have liked to have just a small glimpse as to the outcome/future. This is especially true of how Kara would ultimately handle things beyond the last “scene.” It left too many lingering questions. I may just have to read the next book to see if any of my questions are answered.
