Short follow-on to Pregnant by the Alien Healer, the story revolves around the delivery of Laarn and Jessica's baby girl. Nothing new of special about this. But it's worth for the short appearance of Emperor Daaynal, my favorite Lathar Warrior.

Read as part of Warriors of Lathar, Volume 1.

Alien Healer's Baby is a short story focussing around the first Human/Lathar hybrid baby being born.

Laarn and Jess where in the book Pregnant by the Alien Healer. The Lathar have no idea about human child birth. This is a new experience for all, as is the arrival of a child; since the Lathar race has had no women for generations.

It's a sweet edition to showcase the birth of the first hybrid, its impact to those around her, and that life goes on. I enjoyed this short story.

1. These women are too chill about their aliens dudes treating their breeding Eloi like fucking shit.
2. Not really here for that Alia-Atreides-ass baby she gave birth to, yo.

I really enjoyed this story! It was great to get to pop in and catch up with Laarn and Jess as they get ready to meet their baby girl. This is a really quick, sweet read. It was a nice way to pass my lunch time. You definitely need to read Laarn and Jess's story first to really be able to enjoy this one but it was a great little extra.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I didn't really realize until I finished that this was sort of an extended epilogue. Laarn and Jess have their baby. It also smacks of Twilight since the baby (named after his mother) gave him help in saving Jess when she was stabbed in the last book, and helped him deliver her in this case. She is supposed to grow up to be the best healer ever, according to Laarn's premonition. A cute addition to the series, but not much happens.

A funny and enjoyable short story showing the strength of pregnant women in childbirth and the cluelessness of men.

I loved being able to catch up and see where many of the characters are. A quick and easy read. Can’t wait for the next one.
