******SPOILERS AHEAD******
I loved how they are slowly presenting the conflict in Haise's mind. He may have lost the memories, but he remembers the essence of the life he's left behind. He's being pushed to become stronger, to kill Ghouls remorselessly but somewhere deep in his heart, he know that he doesn't want to kill anyone. While I love how Haise has developed bonds with people from CCG, I still want him to regain his memories back, no one deserves to live a life not knowing how they lived all their life..
The main plot of this Volume is the auction. Here the fight ensues between, Aogiri/Ghouls and Doves. Nothing significant happens besides Ayato vs Juuzou and people commenting Haise fights like Arima (is this going to be useful in the future?). Thankfully, the fight scenes are really well drawn here, no unnecessary whooshes, for once I knew who was dealing the blow!
But nothing beats the last panel..
My hunch that Aogiri captured CCG soldiers to transform into Half Eyed Ghouls came true. I guess we'd meet Amon too. If that's the case, it'd be really interesting to see Amon vs Haise, a complete turnover from their last meeting..
My only concern was that, even though we were covering the Auction alone, in this Volume, it felt long and confusing at times. I kept looking at the chapter number because I knew there'd be a huge cliff hanger! But still, I enjoyed reading about Haise, so it gets 3 stars.

Thoughts:
— more characters from the previous series are reintroduced!!
— was hoping for more touka :/ hopefully she’ll make more appearances later on
— I would love to see more development from saiko. I feel like she has a lot of potential

This was definitely more action packed than the first volume which I enjoyed that aspect more but I did get confused at times with all the character names and other information. That ending was shocking though and I honestly don’t know what is going to happen next!

No amount of Saiko being best girl and Juzo being himself makes up for how rushed this volume feels. I understand that it's the sequel to Tokyo Ghoul, but why are we rushing into a huge battle 2 volumes in? Why aren't we getting to know the new group of Quinxes, why are we shoving in as many previously established characters as we can, and WHY DO WE HAVE THREE FUCKING GROUPS ATTACKING ALL AT ONCE?! Seriously, I get that technically the series doesn't have to start slow since it's a sequel, but this is way too damn fast for my liking and I'm not feeling it. Especially since the last two volumes of the previous series were a huge-ass battle between multiple groups.
It's really a shame that I'm not liking this as much as the previous series, but true to my word I'll give it to the next volume to determine whether I'll continue or not.

Graphic: Trafficking
Moderate: Violence, Death, and Gore
Minor: Dysphoria
Be aware this volume includes a trans masculine character being forced to present as a woman and clearly feeling uncomfortable. There are also scenes that include misgendering of this character
