so my reread of this series is now over. and while my opinions of the rest of the series have significantly changed, my opinion of this book has not changed at all.

This book is the best finale and the tension is so incredible, honestly, I think everyone should read this series as a middle-grade reader, if only for THIS FINALE.

and even despite the drama and crazy and sad and heartbreaking and thrilling stuff going else, this book is able to keep the lighthearted tone it has kept for the whole series. it is the perfect relief, and it works so well with the story.

this is one of the best books I read as a kid and I absolutely understand why I was so obsessed with it.

The perfect resolution to the Ruby Redfort series. No matter how often I read it, the plot twists and the effortless linking of every tiny mention of even the simplest object in each of the 6 books always completely captivate me. This book makes the whole series even better than the books already were as almost stand alone plots.
Finally meeting Bradley Baker in the incredibly captivating character of Mo Loveday and even the splash of romance between him and LB is a special favourite plot to me.
