Love the show and love the books more! So detailed and descriptive, very long but worth it!

DG, what happened to you? Were you ill? Did your dog die? Surely there is a reason this book dragged on and on. The segments where you decided to add story were excellent. I like story. But so much drag. I am very disappointed.

Only 2 words are necessary; Diana Gabaldon. She’s amazing and makes writing an epic series look effortless. The research she’s done is impressive, and her characterization is impeccable. I didn’t discover the books until I started watching Outlander and when I saw in the credits it was based on a series of novels, I had to read them. Every one is better than the last. I have no idea how she flew under my radar for so many years, but I’m making up for lost time and so looking forward to the last 2 books in the series. No release date yet for # 9, but when it comes out, you can bet I’ll be binge reading.

This one was a tough read. I felt like the author had a grandchild in real life or something and basically wrote about what it's like to have a grandchild/toddler. Honestly I couldn't care less about Jimmy. He had practically little to do with the plot.

I would give this a 1 star, but I do have to give some credit to certain parts of the book that bumped it up to 2 stars (however very few). I won't give up on this series, but my oh my was this one hard to finish.
