This is a collection of four stories set in the Chrestomanci universe.

Warlock at the Wheel - a warlock skips to another world to try escape some consequences (and a loss of magic in his current one) and gets bullied into driving a car for toddler Jane and dog Towser (by said toddler and dog).

Stealer of Souls - the story with the most connections to previous books as the main protagonists are Cat/Eric Chant (Charmed Life) and Tonino (Magicians of Caprona). Evil Neville Spiderman kidnaps the boys in his attempt to defy his allotted timespan. Cat is slightly worried about becoming an evil enchanter and is surprisingly self-aware about his jealousy of Tonino. He knows he's being stupid but also recognises that doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to how he is feeling. "And he thought, as he curled up on the other battered sofa, that this was exactly how a person got to be an evil enchanter, by doing a whole lot of good things for bad reasons."

Carol Oneir's Hundredth Dream - She can dream dreams that can be bottled up and sold to others as entertainment. Until she gets to the 100th dream that is when her ability seems to dry up? Chrstomanci is asked to help see what's wrong. (Seems like Carol's dream subjects drunkenly object to typecast roles they always have to act out as well as never getting any time off.)

The Sage of Theare - Great Zond and gods of Theare try to outwit prophecy of Dissolution in their nicely ordered world. Runs on some mind/time bending little nuggets as we work out who the Sage really is.

Un libricino piccolo, quattro storie brevi, assolutamente da leggere se amate le storie di Chrestomanci!
