Beck, lets just say that I really wish he was real

While I liked the book, it didn't have the same effect as the others did. There was less of the world-building and demons. The first half of the book seemed like an episode of Supernatural more than a Demon Trappers novel. Sure, it was great to learn a little more of Beck's past and watch him overcome it, but when the second half of the book started, it felt a little disjointed, like two books were trying to cram into one piece. This wasn't really helped by the teen drama and high school events. Compared the the previous book, this one felt too safe. I almost wish it had been placed earlier in the series, as book 3 had a serious amount of excitement at the end.

When I got the chance to not only read this book, but also join a tour for it by Dark Mind Book Tours I jumped at the chance. When my book arrived I was torn. Half of me wanted to read it and find out what was going to happen next and if Beck and Riley get their HEA, the other half didn't want to open the pages, if I didn't read it then the series wouldn't end, it would still be there for me to finish.

As you can tell from this review, I made the decision to start the book, and once I started I could not put it down. Foretold has everything the previous books has and more. Riley still kicks butts, Beck is still stubborn and demons are still hanging around.

Foretold begins with Riley, Simon and Beck during a mission to trap demons. The tension between this trio is obvious Simon still not happy with Riley, and Beck stubbornly refusing to acknowledge his feelings. Riley certainly does not have it easy, and when she is sent with Beck back to his home town, to keep her safe, his displeasure is obvious. I loved getting a glimpse into Beck's history and the secrets he has hid for all these years. Its hard on both Beck and Riley, Beck has to face his demons and Riley starts to see why Beck is the way he is and learns things about him that she never dreamed. A few new characters are introduced, some of them I liked instantly, Samantha being one of them, and a few I just thought were creepy pervs and just wanting to rile Beck up.

I want to say so much about Foretold and rave about how awesome this part was, or how amazing this other part was, but I cant say too much without giving away spoilers since the UK are lucky enough to have it before the USA. All I can say is Foretold isn't a great read, it's amazing and an amazing end to a great series. It doesn't just grip you, it drags hold with all it can and you willingly fall into it's pages and even when the last page is turned you don't want to let go, you just want to stay in this world for 'one page more' and hope that there is a secret in the next page, or the one after that.

Foretold is a MUST read for any fan of the series or of Jana and I have already started teasing my friends with 'I know what happens and you don't :P'

I read this book quite a while ago, and I couldn't review it when I finished it because all I wanted to do was sit and gush about how much I loved it, and I knew I wouldn't end up accomplishing anything with my review. So I waited and today I decided it was time. So I sat down with the book and basically re-read it this afternoon in preparation. And while I still just want to gush about how wonderful it is, I will try to rise above that and deliver a real review for Foretold.

As is evidenced in my other reviews of this series, I just love it. And as I have already raved about how unique a concept it is, and how I adore the characters, I won't go into details in this review as well. What I will say is I never once wavered in my opinions about these characters, I still love Riley, and Beck is still one of my all-time favorite characters from a series. Possibly ever.

The thing I really liked about this book, that made it feel shiny and new to me, instead of like a fourth, tired installment about demon hunting, is the location change. I think Jana Oliver was very smart to take us to Sadlersville. Not only because it changed the pace of the book, but because it meant it was finally, FINALLY time to delve into Beck's mysterious background, and get to the root of who he is as a character. We really got to see into his soul, and learn about his own personal demons, instead of the literal demons we face throughout this series. I don't want to give things away, but I so loved meeting Sadie at long last, as well as Donovan. These characters were as well built as I have come to expect from Ms. Oliver's writing, and I was never once disappointed.

Of course there is still a strong presence of the supernatural, but the focus remains on Beck, and the relationship between Beck and Riley, far more in this book, and I loved it. It was a great change of pace, but don't worry - we still get enough demon action to be satisfied. I felt it was still fast-paced, and filled with plenty of action, albeit sometimes a different type of action than we had in the first three books.

I highly urge everyone to read this series. I really enjoyed the ride, and I so wish there could be more, but I am so happy with how this series turned out, and how unexpected it was for me, that I hope everyone will give it a chance. Thank you so, so much Jana Oliver. I know I will be re-reading this series many times over the years, and I thank you for spinning Beck and Riley and everyone else into this beautifully woven story. Once again, Foretold , like the other books before, completely deserves every single one of the five stars I have given it, and more, if it were possible.

What an end to the series. I loved it but kinda feel sad that it's all over! That saying that when you finish a great book if feels like you lost a friend, it's so true!

My heart could be more sad that Riley and Beck's story came to an end. Oh well, I'll just have to use my imagination on what happens...

I just love this whole world. I am really starting to like the heroine a lot more as she starts to develop and progress throughout the series. The drama within the book just keeps me hooked.
