Did I like this book more than TGD? Yes. Was I enjoying the book? Depends. Maybe?

Guinevere actually had some inner life (but I was still biased against her from book 1, that definitely affected it). WE ACTUALLY SEE HER IDENTITY CAUSE CONFLICT. The
SpoilerLily plot
was heartbreaking. But the consistent conflict pacing and reduction of filler doesn't mean there aren't any problems. Guinevere is still bland. Arthur is bland. Once again, Lancelot and Mordred aren't, but the damage is done.

I absolutely adored this novel! Everything about it satisfied me. The Guinevere Deception started out somewhat slow, but The Camelot Betrayal was a wonderfully paced, interesting read that fulfilled everything I was looking for. Guinevere and Lancelot are, as always, wonderfully vibrant characters. Kiersten White's Arthur is my favorite representation of the legend that I've read thus far (and I've read quite a few). And, of course, Mordred is such a wonderful and fascinating antagonist. I was starved until this book, and now I'm surviving the post-binge hangover of wishing for more but knowing I would burst if I had it.

Enjoyed more than the first. I felt like it had more depth to it, still just missing that extra something that would take it to a 4

Such a great follow-up to The Guinevere Deception! I am still holding out hope for some action between Guinevere and Lancelot. So ready for book 3!
