i wish this was longer!!!! it was so good i loved the world building and all the horror fantasy elements, and tbh i enjoyed the post-acknowledgements chapter more than the main story (just cuz it was easier to follow; but to be fair it only was easier bc i had background context from the main story) but all of this was soooooo so good oh to be a nonbinary frankenstein plague doctor with my evil immortal mermaid gf. need

I had a visceral reaction to this text. It is a beautiful journey through an apocalyptic world unlike any that you've experienced before. With interesting protagonists and a compelling storyline, the grotesque imagery of this novella left me unable to think of anything else until I finished the last page—and truthfully, for days afterward. It caused me to question the nature of what it means to be human in an environment where all semblance of humanity seems to have disappeared.

SO GOOd so scary and had me absolutely tearing up at the end I loved it so much it made me want to get back into horror! Truly horrific

Great use of language and visceral descriptions to set a darker tone. But I genuinely didn't understand what was going on for a lot of this. The ending was relatively sweet considering everything else that went on.

A twisted love story that is not for the faint of heart.
